Logging On and Off of Horizon Wimba
When you first log on, click if you hear audio and if you do not.
ALWAYS click the when you leave the Horizon Wimba. If you do not, you may not be able to reenter until Horizon Wimba "clears" your seat -- this may take up to 10 minutes.
Audio problems
If you have problems hearing audio, click on and choose to disconnect, then reconnect audio.
If the audio problems are not solved quickly, click on the button to alert the instructor, and type a quick message about the problem in the chat window.
If you continue to have problems, choose to Horizon Wimba, and then log back in.
Horizon Wimba System-Wide Problem
If the entire class has major problems with the system, do the following:
If your instructor does not provide information within 5 minutes in the chat room or so, then figure that the problem is isolated to your own computer. Try to log back in to Horizon Wimba. If you are still not successful, enter your problem in the chat window and email your instructor of the situation, realizing that s/he may only read the email after class.
Student Support of Horizon Wimba
UGA provides special
support to students enrolled in classes that use the Horizon Wimba classroom.
Students may get assistance by e-mailing hlive@uga.edu or calling Student
Technology Support (STS) at 706-542-3333. The STS help desk is open from
9am-10pm Monday through Thursday, 9am-5pm Friday, and 1-7pm Saturday and
Sunday.
