Welcome to the making of "Nowhere Road- The Game". The purpose of this web site is to give you a sneak peek into how I go about designing educational multimedia. I am informally documenting my design efforts and also saving and sharing prototypes along the way to show how my design (and the product) evolves. Use the menu on the left to navigate between my journal entries and the prototypes.

Want to try out Version 1.0 or any of the prototypes?

I'm using Authorware 5 Attain as my authoring tool. Each of the prototypes has been "shocked" to play over the web. To run these prototypes, you need to have the appropriate Authorware Web Player plug-in correctly installed in your web browser (Netscape or Internet Explorer).

Alert! Other Shockwave plug-ins will not work -- you must have the most current Authorware Web Player plug-in correctly installed in your web browser for this interactive module to work. These things have a habit of changing, so although you may think you have the right plug-in, don't be so sure. If you have the plug-ins for earlier versions of Authorware, they will not work for Authorware 5.

If you do not already have this plug-in, click here for instructions on how to get this Shockwave plug-in free of charge from Macromedia.

I recommend that you click here to test whether you have the correct plug-in installed. If you do, a little "Nowhere Road Animation" file will appear in a separate window. If this runs, so too will the game prototypes. If it doesn't run, then you will need to go to the Macromedia site above and download the most correct plug-ins. Also, I've noticed that people tend to have more than one web browser installed on their computers. Be sure that you install these plug-ins on all the browsers you use.

Click here if you just want to play Version 1.0 of Nowhere Road - The Game.
