CAI Format: Simulation/game
Instructional Objectives: demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between acceleration and velocity.
Intended Audience: Middle school and High school students.
Brief Description: This simulation gives the user the opportunity to explore the relationship between acceleration and velocity. The simulation has two sets of conditions that can be turned on and off: 1) three contexts (called metaphors) involving a rolling ball on a tilting board, rolling refrigerator, and a space ship; and 2) "flip flop" game -- the goal is to see how many times you make the ball, refrigerator, or space ship change directions ("flip flop") within a certain area of the screen in 2 minutes.
